Impact
Innocities worked together closely with VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in 2023 to form a shared idea on what type of perspectives should we consider when thinking about impact. After careful planning, desk research and tens of hours of workshops, the Innocities Impact Model was released in early 2024.
The model consist of three layers of impact levels: Pre-requisites for growth, Innovation capability of the area, and Sustainable society. Each level is then divided to 2-4 indicator baskets or themes. (Page 1)
Furthermore, each indicator basket has a set of shared indicators as well as other recognized indicators. Each city may also use any other source of data they have in the themes, in addition. (Page 2)
To help illustrate the cities’ overall picture of goals, actions and achievements, the Impact Model includes the Impact Paths tool (page 3). The tool consists of an analysis framework to help process the impact questions systematically.
The model also adds Impact Stories to compliment the statistical information. These are hands-on examples on how the ecosystem work has taken place in the city and its key results. Please see below for the updating list of closely curated material on Innocities’ impact.
