Water Expertise

The Lead Theme for Water Expertise promotes water expertise through the collaboration, growth, and internationalization of InnoCities advancing their ecosystem agreements. The theme integrates the ecosystem activities of the cities of Kuopio, Oulu, and Kajaani. Mikkeli also participates in the cooperation with its co-development tools.

The Lead Theme is implemented by Savonia University of Applied Sciences and the University of Oulu. The project develops the cities’ joint innovation activities, digitalization, and international visibility in the water sector. The project collaborates with the University of Oulu’s Digital Waters flagship project, which focuses on digital modeling, and the Kuopio Water Cluster innovation ecosystem. A good tool for developing digital services is Kajaani’s supercomputer LUMI.
